Top 10 Car Safety Choices
An important part of vehicles that is taken into account is the safety that it provides. Every car put out to the public goes through crash tests to determine how well it will fare in a collision on the road. Every year new cars are put out and every year there is a list compiled of the top safety choices for each different vehicle type. Since the most popular car type is North America is a crossover, the following is the 2016 top 10 crossovers for safety according to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

#9 – Chevrolet Trax
#8 – Chevrolet Traverse
#7 – Cadillac SRX
#6 – Buick Encore
#5 – Buick Enclave
#4 – BMW X5
#3 – BMW X3
#2 – Acura RDX
#1 – Acura MDX
So the safest crossover is the 2016 Acura RDX. However, this list is not completely set in stone. Many car models are not tested in a crash test. Rather, only the very popular models partake in the test. Moreover, the physics that comes along this test only allows the comparison of vehicles are all around the same size. Due to this, these crossovers may not necessarily have more protection than a larger car such as a SUV.
